Penthaus Calling 6 at Palladium Riga.

4 October 2024

The sixth installment of Penthaus Calling unfolded at the iconic Palladium Riga, transforming the historic venue into a pulsating hub of electronic music and immersive experiences. Curated by Riga-based duo Gustavs Ķibilds and Emīls Ozoliņš, the event series is renowned for its commitment to showcasing non-traditional dance music in distinctive settings.

A Curated Experience

The night commenced with Penthaus Calling, setting the tone with a selection of underground electronic tracks that seamlessly blended into the evening's atmosphere. As the clock struck 2:00 AM, Matias Aguayo, the Chilean-German techno producer, took over the decks. Known for his playful yet meticulous approach to techno, Aguayo's set was a masterclass in rhythm and texture, guiding the audience through a journey that was both intellectually engaging and physically compelling. His ability to maintain a close connection with the audience, occasionally integrating live instruments and electronic devices, added a unique dimension to his performance.

At 4:00 AM, Gabriel Belabbas, the Paris-based house producer, brought his energetic style to the stage. With a decade-long career and releases on labels like Real Tone Records and Treasure Records, Belabbas delivered a set that resonated with the early morning crowd. His fusion of unconventional rhythms and positive vibes kept the energy high, ensuring the dance floor remained vibrant until the event's conclusion at 6:00 AM.

A Venue Transformed

Held in the Palladium Riga, a venue that retains the charm of its cinematic origins, the event's organizers transformed the space into an immersive environment that complemented the music. The venue's unique layout and acoustics provided an intimate setting, enhancing the overall experience.

Conclusion

Penthaus Calling Vol. 6 was more than just a party; it was a celebration of artistic expression and musical innovation. By bringing together international artists and a discerning audience, the event reinforced Riga's position as a burgeoning hub for electronic music. As the night drew to a close, attendees left with a sense of fulfillment, eagerly anticipating the next installment in this exceptional series. The crowd was pleasant, delightful and energetic sans a few people in the crowd who had an aura of disrespect surrounding them who surprisingly were in attendance despite their negative opinions on the rappers and the DJ crowd.
